The range of portable cartridge operated type fireextinguishers is certified to BS EN 3 : 1996 and manufactured under an ISO9001 approvedQuality System. Available in a variety of sizes for dry powder, foam and watermodels. The cylinders are deep drawn from cold rolled steel, centre welded andpressure tested to twice the extinguisher's working pressure. Cylinders areexternally coated with epoxy polyster (with phosphate under treatment) formaximum corrosion resistance and have passed the 480-hour salt spray test. Thewater and foam extinguishers are internally coated with operating brass headcapis fitted with safety relief value.
Dry Powder (ABC)ABC dry powder extinguisher is one of the most versatile extinguishants and iseffective on Class A (carbonaceous) fires, Class B (flammable liquid) fires,and Class C (flammable gas) fires. They are also suitable for use on liveelectrical fires.WaterThe most commonly used type of fire extinguishant for Class A fires involvingcarbonaceous materials such as wood, textile by cooling the fire and removingthe heat needed for combustion.FoamEffectiveon B Class hydrocarbon fuel fires such as oil, petroleum, aviation fuels, andis particularly suitable where fast fire knockdown is essential. It iscompatible with all dry powders. It's excellent wetting characteristics make ituseful in combating Class A fire as well.
